PM Modi welcomes new member ‘Deepjyoti’ to family, shares video

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a video on his X account on Saturday, welcoming a “new member” to his residence in Delhi’s 7 Lok Kalyan Marg. Sharing the video, the Prime Minister wrote, “It is said in our scriptures – ‘Gaav: Sarvasukha Prada:’.
A cow gave birth to a calf at the Prime Minister’s residence, who has been given the name ‘Deepjyoti’ by him. The calf has a unique symbol on its forehead.
Sharing the video, PM Modi said he named the calf ‘Deepjyoti’ as it has a “symbol of light on its forehead”. He could be seen sitting with the calf at the temple in his residence in the video shared on X. PM Modi could also be seen playing with the calf, caressing the mark on its forehead, petting and kissing it.
He was also seen holding the calf and taking a stroll with it through the garden at his residence.
Notably, in January this year, on the occasion of Makar Sankaranti, PM Modi shared a video showing him feeding Punganur cows at his residence. The Punganur breed is native to south India, particularly the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. The breed is among the world’s smallest humped cattle breeds.
